Effective Teaching Strategies: including reading lesson plans.

Creating Effective Teaching Strategies

Educators all across North America are seeking new effective teaching strategies that are more responsive to students' needs. No longer focusing on just the three R's, such as reading lesson plans, educators are looking for teaching strategies that educate students on how to assume future roles in society. As such, they are making the education environment more interactive and are integrating technology into the learning experience.

The traditional teaching style of lecturing has been recognized as more productive when used in
conjunction with active learning teaching strategies. This way educators can communicate a large amount of information to many listeners in a non-threatening environment for students. By combining this with an active participation style of learning, educators are able to confirm the level of student understanding and comprehension. Instead of focusing curriculum development on non-interactive reading lesson plans, encourage student participation.

When looking for new strategies for teaching, remember to look for curriculum that is interactive and involves students of all levels. Choose reading lesson plans that are truly interactive while still allowing for individual student learning.
