Stop Bullying Through Effective Teaching Supplies

Although bullying has been around since the dawn of time, adults are finally realizing how detrimental this can be to students. As a result, schools all over North America are taking a stand on the issue and are now sticking up for the little guy. With so many schools taking such strong stance on bullying, it's surprising that more school supplies aren't developed for teachers and students to deal with this hot subject. Although not standard teacher supplies, most educators have been told, or received memos about, what to do in the case of bullying. They understand how important it is to protect the anonymity of the victim and the reporting student if different. They are also being educated about the different form s of bullying behavior. The only ones not getting a full education on this material are the students. For many, bullying and creating an action plan on the subject just isn't part of their school supplies list.

If you're interested in adding some information about bullying to your students' school supplies, it's important to stress how important the victim and the reporter's anonymity is. If they don't trust that this will happen, bullying will gone on unreported. As such, it's also important for them to remember that in most cases of bullying, there is the bully, the victim and the by-standers. Students that just watch bullying take place but don't report it are just as bad as the bully. Make the power of reporting these incidents a key part of your teacher supplies.

When making your own curriculum and school supplies on bullying, be sure to make students away of the many different types of bullying behaviors, which run the gamut from physical, verbal, emotional and sexual. If the individual being bullied encounters any of these different types of aggression, they should immediately report it instead of writing the incident off. To be effective in getting this message across, it might be a good idea to include a little pamphlet with students' school supplies and shows examples of bullying and discusses how to overcome it. In your teacher supplies, outline and clear and effective plan for dealing with both the bully and the victim and stick to it. The bully will understand that there are consequences for bullying and victims will develop better friendships skills while learning to interact with assertiveness and confidence.
