Free
Stuff for Teachers can Benefit the School
Some companies offer free stuff for
teachers that can be of benefit to a school. A teacher
may involve her class in a reading or spelling
competition that offers a computer to the winners. The
teacher may be the one filling out the applications for
the contest but the prizes are not really free stuff for
teachers. Classes can strive to reap benefit for their
schools but most teachers are not permitted to accept
gratuities personally. Any prizes or offerings need to
be approved by the school board with respect to already
established guidelines. If the board thinks there can be
no harm done and the school may benefit they may
consider contests or sponsorship.
When a teacher buys supplies there may be included
some free stuff for teachers that can be used along with
the supplies. A calendar that is bought to cover the
whole school year may come with free stick one memo
holders or an erasable pen. A day timer may come in
handy for a well organized teacher and the company may
include some free give away stickers she can use in
class. These are not large gifts and do not really
represent a high dollar value. They are just small
incentives for the teachers to buy a certain product.
It may be that the only free stuff for teachers they
can really count on is the rewards they will get from
doing a good job. They will not get samples or free
trials of products like people that work in other
professions may get from sales men.
