 Extra School Supplies are a Big Help in the Classroom

Teaching primary and intermediate grades is a definite challenge for any teacher, knowing which school supplies, teacher supplies and educational supplies to include in class is the first step to ensuring success. A classroom will already have its share of school supplies and educational supplies to begin with, but it’s amazing at how adding a few extra supplies to the class can help.

One of the greatest school supplies any teacher can add to their class is that of puppets. Puppets are a wonderful way for the class to participate in a project together while learning social skills, interaction, storytelling, role playing and imaginative skills all while having fun. Some of the great puppets to include in the classroom are; hand puppets (cartoon characters, people, fish, alligators, lions, cows, dogs, giraffes etc.), finger puppets (fantasy, cartoon characters, farmyard animals, frogs and monkeys), puppet theaters (available in tabletop, floor standing, doorway and marionette designs), marionettes (people, fantasy and animals) and pop-up puppets. Of course a great classroom project is to make a puppet theater and puppets than throwing a puppet show, get the children involved in all aspects of preparation.

You might want to include videos and DVD’s with puppets in your list of school supplies. Puppets can provide endless enjoyment and learning for the whole class to enjoy.
